Release Notes October 2024
What's new in Forest Admin π² Revamped smart action forms, improvements to Forest Assist, and more.
October was a busy month for new releases. To start with, we made Forest Assist more broadly supported with the new user mapping and an integration with Crisp. On Forest Admin, we revamped smart action forms, and added a new permission level (Manager). Soon you can also expect to have a local development environment for Forest Admin Cloud projects, a team performance view to keep track of KPIs, more flexibility in organizing customer data, and much more.
Let's dive in π
π€ Β New to Forest Assist
If you haven't heard of Forest Assist, it's a Chrome extension that brings all relevant customer data into your ticketing system, helping support agents resolve tickets faster. We've been adding new features and improvements based on valuable feedback from our first beta testers π²
- You asked Forest Assist to work with more ticketing systems. It nows works with Crisp, along with Zendesk and Intercom. More are coming soon!
- You can specify the search fields to use for a search, resulting in faster and more accurate requester matching.
If your team handles tickets using Zendesk, Intercom, or Crisp and if you haven't tried Forest Assist yet, you can still supercharge their tools to close tickets faster. Visit Chrome Web Store or contact us directly.
ποΈGuide your users through smart actions forms
Allowing users to provide information is an essential part of most operational workflows: handling tickets, onboarding new customers, processing requests, just to name a few. On Forest Admin this is done using Smart Action Forms, which now have got new features to to guide your users through the form:
- A multi-page layout,
- Rows and separators for better visual organization,
- HTML blocks for unlimited customization,
- A button label to change the text on the submit button at the end of the form.
π§βπ» New permission level: Manager
As you know, Forest Admin offers three default permission levels: Administrator, Developer, and Editor. Or rather it used to because we have added the fourth one: Manager, and it is already available in the Project's Settings. The Manager permission level is linked with Inbox: the feature for efficient task distribution among team members based on their workload and expertise. Soon, Inbox will give users with a Manager permission level access to track the performance of their teams.
Hide native actions for dissociation
We've heard that many of you would like to hide native actions for dissociation to prevent operators from taking such actions. We've just made it possible. To do so, go to the Layout Editor β Collections' settings β Fields β scroll down to Relationships β Pick a relationship and click on a toggle to hide.
API Charts on Forest Admin Cloud
We've also made it possible for our Cloud users to code data powering any chart and display more complex and business-specific visualizations.
